mountain top removal

i learned about this a few months ago and want to spread the word..
and the U S government say its ok to live here. residents have nothing to worry about.
Seriously? seriously..
incase you dont know what the mounds are in the background, its the result of coal mining. its a process called mountain top mining. they basially blow up the tops of mountains to extract the coal, since coal is distrubited though several layers of sedidment, this is how they have to extract all the deposits. what's left is then but in a so called bath, with chemicals mind you, to get all the possible pieces. the sledge that is left is then put into a "pool" and the dirt displaced to other areas and made into a fake mountain. well one of the sledge pools went rampant and caused a "coal"slide. this happens and when it does it whipes out small towns where most of the community is in poverty. during clean up they pile it up, like in this picture. the towns are told that there is nothing to worry about, even if the water running in their sinks is black. go figure..
its really fucked up..

the reality beyond matter
.. taken from a fragment of a stimulating conversation.. and translated into my interpertation, it calls to mind ones own perception. what is perception? webster defines it as
Per.cep.tion
.. the act of apprehending by means of the senses or the mind; cognition; understanding
.. immediate or intutive recognition or appreciation insight; intuition
.. in psychology a single unified awareness derived from sensory processes while a stimulus is present.
this one is not so heavy..
Baby Carrots Contain Bleach: Yummy!!

An email came to me, warning that baby carrots are dipped in chlorine. They are made from deformed carrots, peeled and then dipped in a high solution of chlorine to keep them from turning white and being deemed, “bad”. This made me scratch my head. Food dipped in chlorine? Could this be true?
I hate to say it but, yes.
When a baby carrot turns white they call this, “white blushing” and often times this “white blushing” causes the bags of carrots to pulled from the shelf and thrown away. Consumer waste. To prevent this consumer waste the carrots are then dipped in the chlorine.
"To date, white blush has been controlled primarily by washing freshly processed carrots with chilled water, usually in a hydro cooler, followed by refrigeration and/or by packaging of the freshly processed carrots in specialized containers, including some that maintain modified atmospheres within the containers. Chlorine has also been added to the chilled water treatments for sanitation purposes, and primarily to control microbial bacteria growth on the processed carrots. However, depending upon the above variables, the onset of white blush may only be delayed for a few days. Therefore baby carrots tend to have a shorter shelf life." (http://www.carrotmuseum.co.uk/babycarrot.html)
You can also go find the patented information on washing carrots and the dilution rate of the chlorine the carrots are dipped in, as though that matters. (http://www.patentstorm.us/patents/5346712/description.html)
I like baby carrots and find them convenient. After reading this, I will be buying only organic carrots from now on, as well as only whole size. Maybe this means I will have to plant carrots as well next year in my garden, humm. So much for convenient and packaging, a lesson I should know by now. I suppose if I were to choose the baby carrots I would be washing them very well in my favorite veggie wash, but even that sounds far fetched at this point. From what I read, some say that it doesn’t matter that a carrot was dipped in bleach but I guess you decide.

impromptu monday makings
after a long day and last minute decision to grab a drink with friends, the night brought me to niagara bar in the les. while listening to music and concocting creations with supplies brought by jonathan, consisting of blue and black acrylic paint, a multitude of craypas, black perement marker, pens, some cardboard, and a single paintbrush.. the following were crafted in an oh so malodic state.. the first multi-media painting was made while listing to orange oven.. the second one followed to the rythm of.. condom pocket..
as the night wound down at the bar.. we decided to take the party to 96 lafayette st.. to continue the madness.. and listen to might i say.. some bad techno.. but a great collaboration with colin produced a fine specism and the last one was done by jonathan and emily

overall.. great night of inspiration..
