mountain top removal

i learned about this a few months ago and want to spread the word..

and the U S government say its ok to live here. residents have nothing to worry about.

incase you dont know what the mounds are in the background, its the result of coal mining. its a process called mountain top mining. they basially blow up the tops of mountains to extract the coal, since coal is distrubited though several layers of sedidment, this is how they have to extract all the deposits. what's left is then but in a so called bath, with chemicals mind you, to get all the possible pieces. the sledge that is left is then put into a "pool" and the dirt displaced to other areas and made into a fake mountain. well one of the sledge pools went rampant and caused a "coal"slide. this happens and when it does it whipes out small towns where most of the community is in poverty. during clean up they pile it up, like in this picture. the towns are told that there is nothing to worry about, even if the water running in their sinks is black. go figure..
